How Spray Foam Insulation York Works
Spray Foam Insulation York insulates and air seals rowhomes, twins, single-family houses, basements, garages and shops in York and across York County. We spray closed-cell and open-cell foam, seal and insulate attics and knee walls, foam rim joists and basement walls, fill the walls of older homes, and remove insulation that has failed.
York County's housing is old. About half of the homes in the city of York were built before 1940, and boroughs like Red Lion, Wrightsville and Glen Rock are close behind. Many are brick rowhomes and twins with shallow roof spaces, party walls and stone or brick foundations. Those houses lose heat through the roof, the rim joist, the back additions and the gaps where the party wall meets the roof. Newer subdivisions in the townships and the southern boroughs have their own issues: bonus rooms, knee walls, recessed lights and ductwork in unconditioned attics.
Every job starts with a visit. We look at the attic or roof space, the basement, the rim joist and the walls, check the wiring and any signs of water, and measure. Then we send a written quote where each area has its own line with the material, the thickness or depth, the target R-value and the price.
How we run a job
- Look first. No price until we have seen the spaces.
- Wiring and water first. Knob-and-tube wiring, roof leaks and wet basement walls are flagged before anything is covered.
- Seal, then insulate. Air leaks are closed before insulation goes over them.
- Respect the neighbors. In attached homes we work only on your side of the party wall.
- Protect the house. Floors and belongings are covered and the work area is ventilated.
- Changes in writing. Anything that changes after we start is agreed on and written down first.
